On the 19th August 2010 The NIBA held a Bushcraft day at Carnfunnock for the Adults and Kids from the Cedar Foundation. Luckily for us the sun shone but even if it had rained continuosly it wouldnt have damped the spirits around our campfire that day. We met up at 10 am and brought our intrepid guests down the windy path to our site for the day. After introductions the fun and games began, and what Craic we had, here are some of the pictures of what we got up to.
Gary doing a flint, steel and charcloth demonstartion
Now the kids have a go
Bannock Making
Soap from Horse Chestnuts
A Wild Food walk
Messing about in Hammocks!
Blow pipe target practice!
A thoroughly excellent day was had by all, here is an extract from an email we received from the Cedar foundation,
“We had an amazing time with you guys, both the young people and staff loved it.Thank you so much for the day, you all put so much thought and effort into it and we were blown away by how good it was, a few of us have been talking about camping over Halloween since our visit to Carnfunnock.”
